Happy Easter!

Matthew had his first baseball scrimmage yesterday. He got nervous when he got up to bat at first, but he did hit the ball and made it to first base on his second try. In practice, he hits the ball very well. He showed great abilities for playing first base. He is getting good at catching the ball.



Alyson is here being our diva. She doesn't much care for watching her brother play baseball. She would rather spend her time handing upside down on the monkey bars at the playground.


Rachel brought Pokey to the game with us and spent her time showing him off. We are making small successes in the house training bit. I have grown pretty fond of him despite his messes.

It was Spring Break for us this week. The first two days were full of rain and the kids were trapped inside. By Wednesday, we were starting to see sun and warmer weather. Dave had plans to take the kids to Six Flags on Thursday, but Alyson wasn't feeling well. They ended up going on Friday which was not the best of choices - it seemed like everyone in the metroplex was there on Friday. I joined them after work for a few hours in the park. Alyson finally got on the Mine Train (not the mini one) and loved it. Matthew was thrilled that he rode the Mine Train without hitting his nose on the restraint bar - last summer he rode it and was dis-enchanted when he hit is nose hard on the bar. The kids didn't get to do everything they wanted to due to long lines, but they seemed to have fun. We spent Saturday recuperating.

We are enjoying our Easter. The kids were disappointed to find a dozen "empty" plastic eggs all over the house. They were really upset that they couldn't find baskets full of candy. We took the chance to teach them about the true meaning of Easter - and it's not all about bunnies and candies. They were pleased to find the Easter Bunny did actually stop at our house. Now they are hyped on sugar. I did well staying away from it this morning, but this afternoon is a different story.
