We got school pictures back today. The kids did pretty well this year with no retakes! Aren't they so cute? (Of course, I am biased).
It was a lot of fun to celebrate birthdays and our 12th wedding anniversary. We had special visits from both sets of grandmas and grandpas. My kids always love when they come; it really helps in making their birthdays special. I had my fill of birthday donuts, cake and ice cream, and spoiled children!
We've had even more change in our household if you didn't think uprooting our family last month was enough. This change was church related. For those of you who do not belong to the LDS church, this may not mean much to you, but it really is a big deal for us. I was released from the Relief Society presidency at the end of September and called to teach the 6 year old primary class. Then Dave and I were called in to meet with a member of the Stake Presidency two weeks ago. Dave was just sure any new calling was meant for me. WRONG! Dave was called to be the second counselor in the Bishopric of our ward. He was to be sustained in church on Sunday, Oct. 11 (just happened to be our anniversary). This calling required Dave to be ordained to the office of High Priest. My Dad made special arrangements to be here for the ordination and we appreciate his sacrifice to come. My Mom and Dave's Mom also came. It was a special day. Now, Dave has had a couple weeks to let it all sink in and he is overwhelmed. This calling will be a challenge for him and our family, but I know we will receive blessings for his service.
It's a rainy day and I am glad to be home from work. It took me 1 1/2 hours to get to work this morning and 2 hours to get home this evening...all because of rain. Dave was over by our lot this afternoon and got shots of the lake behind where our new house will be. Take a look:

And there is more coming! Luckily, our lot is still a ways from the rising waters. We shouldn't have to worry about a flooded yard.
