Peace and Quiet
I have been looking forward to peace and quiet all week; now that it's here, I am longing for noise! I was really sad to see my family pull away from the house this morning. I wish I could've gone with them. I've been keeping up through text messages most of the day. I am sure they will have a blast, and by the end of the week they will probably miss me too.

March....in like a lion...
March is here and time is flying so fast. Before I know it, school will be out for the summer and my kids will be another year older. The kids brought home report cards on Friday - all three got straight A's again. I feel blessed that my children are doing well in school; even better, my children enjoy school. It sure makes it easier to get out the door in the morning when kids look forward to leaving - maybe I should evaluate their motives ;)
Apparently, the guy who finished our garage floor and shelving last Spring has been impressed with Dave's salesmanship - he has a very high rate of success for his referrals. He offered Dave a part time job doing estimates for flooring, shelving, and cabinetry. He offered to train and provide Dave a cut of the sales in return for his work. This is right up Dave's alley. He was excited for the offer and hopes it pans out.
This is a big week for Alyson. She heads to Sky Ranch tomorrow morning for the 4th Grade campout. She will join the rest of her classmates early in the morning to ride a bus to the camp, stay in cabins with (I hope) responsible adults, and spend time learning different skills out in the woods. I hope the trip lives up to her expectations. I remember Rachel had a blast when she went, so my hopes are high.
The rest of us will stay home and enjoy each other's company. Dave will be turning the big 43 this Friday. He plans to spend his birthday on the Mini Mountain Man Rendevous with the scouts - probably the most exciting way for him to spend his special day. Either late Saturday or early Sunday, he and the kids will head to Hereford for Spring Break. David Sr. needs help with some roofs and the kids can't wait to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Ankeney. I will be lonely without my family here for a week, but I am sure I can find plenty to fill the quiet hours - more time for me and Pokey to bond.
